"Describe well your village and you will talk to the whole world" L. Tolstoj.

We all share rural roots, even though we may live in a big city. If we  ignore our roots, we might leave behind our identity.
This brief but intense journey is a way of retracing the thread that links countryside with the city, or maybe experiencing the definitive breakthrough (...?).

The periphery is not just as we know it today, it was periphery 2000 years ago as well, in this centripetal journey we will see how, among so many places that have changed drammatically, you can find the traces of a peasant world that still resists or that  has not changed at all. Wonderful places of nature such as the Tevere-Farfa Nature Reserve, surrounded by greenery, swarming  with animals in a lush nature, alternate with transformed landscapes, in which it remains, for example, in a cultivated field, or in a dry stone wall, or in a countryside church, or in a votive pillar, or in a small castle or tower, a fleeting and tenacious memory of the past. You can also find beautiful pearls of archeology, like the roman city of Lucus Feroniae, in the midst of a hyper urbanized context, but approching it on secondary roads, by bike, will be exciting like reliving their first discovery. We will do all this running along a valley and a legendary river, dotted with natural and historical monuments and cultural landscapes .. the Tiber! And what is the final destination ?? Natural! ... ROME! We will get into the very heart of the Eternal city, along the Tiber, and in the path inside the perimeter of the megalopolis, running, only on bike friendly roads, we will discover many places, stories, environments, hidden corners, big and tiny monuments, that will make you feel the presence of the past Rome inhabitants and that will make you feel the real soul of the city. We will be like a small rebel army against cars and busy roads, like BARBARIANS to a "slow conquest" of Rome. We will penetrate into his heart on our bike seat, along "bike friendly" roads and trails.
